Safe Sex is the Best Sex

Safe Sex is the Best Sex

Sex is great and many find it worth the risks that they take, in regards to pregnancy and sexually transmissible diseases. Many think all the fun is gone once they begin to take precautions to protect themselves from unwanted health concerns. It does not have to be that way, though educating yourself and finding what works for you can insure a long and healthy sex life, one that you can thoroughly enjoy!

First, consider your partner or partners. Realize that having sex may seem fun and casual but the exchange you make with another is a pretty serious one. Body fluids are either healthy or unhealthy. They can carry all the known sexually transmittable diseases and fatal ones such as AIDS and Syphilis. One night stands are really a thing of the past. Having sex with a stranger is not cool anymore, and those continuing to live this way really aren’t the ones you would consider building a life with. So be picky! Find out all you can about this new interest of yours; their history and their habits now. You deserve the best.

The Pill is the protection against pregnancy. However, it will not protect against STD’s. The condom is still the best method to protect oneself from STD’s. From there, if both partners are healthy and willing to stay faithful to one another, then there should be no worry. Until then, learning how to use condoms properly can be a lot of fun and can lead to some very sexy foreplay! Make the most of taking care of one another by learning and practicing safe sex.

Another delicate subject that is hard to talk about is anal sex. Still, if your partner has a request for it, then be prepared to make an educated decision on this matter by understanding the complications of anal sex. No worry of pregnancy, of course, but the risk of injury and transmitting an infectious disease is much higher with this practice. Anal skin is much thinner than the skin of the vagina and tears easier. It should be performed in a very gentle manner with lots of water based lubricant. Vaginal sex should not be performed after anal sex because, obviously, the bacteria found in the anus will transfer, setting the female up for very uncomfortable infections.

Oral sex is another pleasurable act that does need consideration in regards to protection against STD’s, a dental dam to prevent transmission of bacteria into the mouth, which is highly susceptible to infectious diseases and extremely embarrassing! The majority of couples loves to play with sex toys and may not be aware that they need to be kept clean and hygienic before use. Sterilizing wipes can be purchased. Those that are labeled to kill anti bacteria will do just fine. Another option is using a mild disinfectant and warm water to wash and rinse your toys and then store them away in a nice dry place! To be doubly sure that you are safe when using your toys, washing them after use and, again, before use, is the safest bet.
